Plasma Pre-Treatment
Optimal preparation of the surface

Inline plasma pre-treatment is a critical process step to ensure optimal adhesion and coating quality in vacuum deposition systems. As the substrate—typically film or flexible material—moves continuously through the vacuum system, it passes through a plasma zone where it is exposed to ionized process gases.

This dry, chemical-free treatment removes organic contaminants, activates the surface, and improves wettability. The result: significantly enhanced adhesion, uniform film growth, and reduced defect rates in subsequent coating steps.

Inline plasma units can be seamlessly integrated into roll-to-roll vacuum systems, enabling high throughput with consistently stable process conditions—ideal for demanding applications in packaging, electronics, or display manufacturing.
