Optical thin-film coatings are gaining increasing importance in industrial processes and throughout the field of high technology. Depending on the application, very special coatings or coating systems are required that must meet certain criteria regarding:

  • Reflection behavior
  • Absorption behavior
  • Dispersion
  • Resistance to high temperatures and humidity
  • Abrasion resistance, adhesion

Optical coatings and coating systems with only a few nanometers of layer thickness, as needed for beam splitters, conversion filters, blocking filters, bandpass filters, heat protection filters, as well as for cold light and laser mirrors, must be manufactured with utmost precision.
