Faraday Cup
Ion current measurement

The Faraday Cup FCB, connected to a source meter, is used to collect and measure charged particle currents, such as those emitted by an ion source.

The FCB is mounted on a standardized vacuum flange, allowing for easy attachment to the vacuum system. The Faraday cup is UHV-compatible (ultra-high vacuum compatible) and consists of a hollow stainless steel cylinder that is closed at the base and has a suitably sized opening for collecting electrons or ions.

The FCB has a standard aperture diameter of 2.0 mm. However, custom aperture sizes are available. The Faraday cup is electrically directly connected to two BNC sockets, which can then be connected to a source meter.
